Del Mar's Tristan Prettyman Nominated for San Diego Music Award

The Torrey Pines High School graduate was nominated for Best Album of the Year and Song of the Year for "My Oh My."

Local singer-songwriter Tristan Prettyman is up against some tough competition. It was announced Sunday that Prettyman, a Del Mar native, was nominated for Album of the Year in the San Diego Music Awards. Other nominees include The Burning of Rome and Wavves.

In addition, Prettyman's My Oh My is in the running for Best Song of the Year against several other notable and commercially successful San Diego artists, including Pinback, P.O.D. and Slightly Stoopid.

Prettyman's third, Cedar + Gold, was released in October 2012. She will tour from Delaware through Maine in August.

A former model, Prettyman talked about her latest album, vocal cord surgery and her breakup with fiancée Jason Mraz in a Vanity Fair interview last year. The album is more raw, personal and open than her first two. Her song Glass Jar reveals how the relationship dissolved.
