Monday Essentials: New Library, Still Screaming and Breaking Bad

Here's what you need to know for this week:

• New Library Opens: The new central library downtown is finally open to the public, with a price tag of nearly $185 million. The new features planned for the nine-story library included roof gardens, a public reading room and a state-of-the-art auditorium. 
• Scream Zone: The Scream Zone at the Del Mar Fairgrounds is open from 7 p.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday this week, and 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Sunday. The hours and days open change throughout the month so check here for details.
• Breaking Bad is Over: Don't worry. We're not going to spoil the finale for you here. (But if that's what you want, go here.) We will ask, though: Do you think the show had a positive or negative effect on how people perceive methamphetamine use?
