A short film by Canyon Crest Academy graduate Isidor “Izzy” Pollak’s was selected for inclusion in a student film festival. His film Dreams: A Trayvon Martin Story will be televised Jan. 24 on KCET in Los Angeles and online for San Diego viewers. The film is included in the Fine Cuts series on KCET’s Open Call hosted by Suzanna Guzman.
Pollak is a Loyola Marymount University sophomore. While at Canyon Crest, he was involved in the Acting Conservatory Program.
The film was shot on the RED Epic and 5dMKii. It incorporates narrative elements as well as audiotape from the actual event itself.
“It explores fear in America,” Pollak said in an announcement. “On the quest to abolish hate, Dreams attempts to show the audience that sometimes guilt lies in the hands of an external element: fear.”
