4 Computers Stolen from Sage Canyon School in Carmel Valley

The burglary is the latest in a string of similar incidents in the Del Mar Union School District.

Burglars snatched four computers, keyboards and mice from Sage Canyon Elementary School early Tuesday morning, but dropped some of the items on a nearby sidewalk, police said.

The burglary is the latest in a string of similar incidents in the Del Mar Union School District.

Around 1:18 a.m. Tuesday, the Harvest Run Drive elementary school's alarm went off and security that had just come on-site spotted two males in dark clothing running toward Whispering Hills Lane, San Diego police Det. Gary Hassen said.

Authorities found two keyboards and a mouse on the sidewalk near a home at 10590 Whispering Hills Lane but could not find the two males, Hassen said.

Earlier this month, three desktop computers were taken from Ocean Air Elementary School on Canter Heights Drive. That was just one week after two laptops were stolen from the main floor of the district office on El Camino Real.

At the time, Del Mar Union Superintendent Holly McClurg called the back-to-back burglaries "frustrating."
