College Nannies and Tutors Opening This Summer
A new College Nannies and Tutors learning and tutoring center will be opening in the Del Mar Highlands Town Center on June 1.
College Nannies and Tutors is coming to the Del Mar Highlands Town Center this summer. The tutoring and learning center will officially open on June 1 and will be located on the second floor near Sammy’s Woodfired Pizza.
College Nannies and Tutors, established in 2001, is a nationwide franchise that offers customized nanny, professional babysitting and tutoring services. The company matches families with nannies and tutors who are recent college graduates with backgrounds in education and child development. Tutoring sessions in every subject, including college test prep, are also available for students of all ages.
“When I read the opportunity of the start up of College Nannies and Tutors, I simply couldn't resist,” Owner Laura Davis said. “It was the perfect combination of my family life and my business life.”

Davis began her College Nannies career in Edina, Minn. in November 2004 and eventually expanded the franchise to 11 locations in four states. The new center in Del Mar is her second franchise location in California— the other is in La Jolla.
Davis said she saw the “energy and family-focused atmosphere” in the Del Mar Highlands Town Center when scouting around San Diego. After doing more research, she said she believes the company will be an asset to local families.

“We want to bring back date night to parents who need a trusted nanny for the night,” Davis said. “We want to be a great resource for outstanding summer nanny care for a 12 year old who needs to hone his soccer skills and we want to help make dinner conversation more fun, not a struggle about homework.”
