Additional detail on the event below:
• What is EPIC Series?: A hybrid of Strongman, cross-training, boot camp and endurance challenges laid out on a course that is fully scalable and challenging for all levels of athletes from beginner to beast.
• Can I do this?: With two different divisions to choose from (Standard and Elite Competition) this event truly is for everyone. Elite athletes will complete the “Standard Course” and will then after a short break compete in a second AMRAP (As Many Reps As Possible) workout. The combined scores from both will produce “The Most EPIC Amongst us” with prizes and a championship belt.
• Is this a mud run? - No. No mud. No electrocution. No gimmicks.
• Will there be any technical or The Olympic Weightlifting? No
• What makes the EPIC Series different from other events out there? The Challenges! This course is what you train for everyday but like nothing you have ever done. We’ve cut out the long boring runs and focused the course on a relentless gauntlet of challenges such as:
• Glory Poles (AKA Fingals Fingers)
• Fun Bags (Sand Bag Wall Climb)
• Bangerz (Smash an anvil with a sledgehammer and move it along a track)
• Keg Tug – pull a keg 20 feet up and bring it back down…five times!
CAF and Operation Rebound
About Challenged Athletes Foundation:
Established in 1997, Challenged Athletes Foundation®(CAF) grew out of a desire to assist one athlete paralyzed in a triathlon. From this modest beginning arose a more important mission to make sure people with physical challenges have the same freedom to enjoy sports as everyone else.
Challenged Athletes Foundation's® (CAF) Operation Rebound® program is the premier sports and fitness program for American military personnel, veterans and first responders with permanent physical disabilities. It provides unparalleled opportunities to pursue active, athletic lifestyles by offering access to funding for equipment and training and competition expenses, Military Medical Center Physical Training (MMCPT) and sports clinics.
