SDSU Programs Reach Out to Military Veterans, Spouses

More than 30 certificate programs approved for veterans’ education and military spouse benefits are offered by the SDSU College of Extended Studies Military and Veterans Services Office in its outreach out to veterans, active duty, and family members of the men and women of the United States Armed Forces. “Education is a critical component, especially when you talk about a unique program like here at the Extended Studies at San Diego State University where veterans come into the classroom,” said Capt. James C. Goudreau, director of the Navy Energy Coordination office in Washington, D.C. Capt. Goudreau was keynote speaker at the SDSU Extended Studies veterans sustainability event “Discover Green Careers, Entrepreneurship, & New Trends” earlier this year. The Military Spouse Career Advancement Account (MyCAA) assists military spouses in obtaining training and education in a high-demand, portable career by providing $4,000 over a two-year period for educational benefits. SDSU offers certificate programs in the following approved fields: construction occupations, educational services, financial services, health care, hospitality, human resources, meeting and event planning, and the technology industry.
