The Del Mar Union School District (DMUSD) Board of Trustees unanimously voted Dr. Holly McClurg as the new district Superintendent.
McClurg's role was effective July 1, 2012. With 25 years of experience, McClurg came to DMUSD from the Temecula Valley Unified School District, where she was a principal for nine years and previously a director for the San Marcos Unified School District.
She started her career as an elementary school teacher in Yuma, Arizona. After two years, McClurg came to San Diego where she taught in El Cajon's Dehesa School District. She also taught in Virginia as her husband served as a marine.
McClurg educational background includes a PhD from the University of California Riverside, Master of Arts in Education from Point Loma Nazarene University, and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of North Dakota.
McClurg, her husband, and son are residents and live in the Del Mar Union School District.
